I’m a Certified Emergency Paramedic and have been working in emergency medical services (EMS) for five years. As a queer person working in healthcare, I’ve seen firsthand the dramatic differences in treatment and care for the well-being of LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and underprivileged community and in society as a whole. I wholeheartedly believe that healthcare should be accessible and equal for all people. With that in mind, I wanted to create a queer-oriented space to encourage and empower these underserved communities to take care of each other. I’m offering these classes on a sliding-scale basis to help allow access for individuals or groups who may not have the financial resources to pay for a traditional CPR or first-aid class. For those who have the resources to pay the full cost or who would like to donate more, the sliding scale offers an opportunity to give back to our community, to help pay for the cost of attending for those who aren’t able to pay otherwise.
… to create a safe environment where our community is able to support each other with our health and safety.
